Biography

Barber Geoff Director Geoff Barber has worked in the non-profit industry for 6 years, most recently as Director of Membership for jazz89 KUVO, Denver's local public radio jazz station.
Geoff just completed his Master's Degree in Public administration at the University of Colorado - Denver and has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Drake
University.

Geoff and his wife VA spend much of their free time playing with their son, Merritt, and preparing for the newest addition to their family due this summer while enjoying all the fun that living in Colorado has to offer.
Boyer Barbara Director American Council of the Blind of Colorado
 

Barbara has over twenty years of experience in achieving organizational and project specific goals and objectives while maintaining and developing critical partnerships and a full spectrum of public relations endeavors. She holds a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado, Denver (Public Policy/Administration) and a B.S. in Psychology from S.U.N.Y. Barbara has served as the inaugural executive director in several developing non-profit organizations after as successful career as a municipal government manager.

Barbara was invited to serve as the American Council of the Blind of Colorado’s first Executive Director in October 2005 and has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer. She also has been appointed by Governor Ritter as a Commissioner serving on the State Commission for Blind and Visually Impaired Individuals. She serves on the Secretary of State Voter Accessibility, Independence and Privacy Task Force and CDOT's Transportation and Mobility Council.  In 2008 Barbara also joined the Board of Directors of the Center for People with Disabilities in Boulder, Colorado and is now serving her second term as the Board President. In August 2011 Barbara was also appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of Caring Connection.

Hacker Robyn Director UnitedHealth Group

Robyn Hacker has worked in the healthcare industry beginning in 1999. Robyn is currently employed as a consultant at UnitedHealth Group, where she has been employed since 2005.

Robyn is currently studying for her Masters in Management, from Colorado State University and received her Bachelors in Management in 2003. Robyn has volunteered with many organizations including, Evercare Hospice, Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue, United Volunteers, A.L.I.E. Foundation and worked as a certified car seat inspector.


Robyn lives in Northglenn, Colorado with her husband Joe, their son Michael, and two dogs.

Haines Joe Past President The Action Center

Joe Haines has been involved with non-profits for almost 17 years. His past experiences include running non-profits for youth, developmentally disabled adults and feral cats. He is currently the Director of Development for Jeffco Action Center.

When not working, he is President of the Colorado State Chess Association and a member of the Lakewood Breakfast Optimist Club.

Heyl Lauren  Secretary Denver Rescue Mission

Lauren Heyl has worked in the non-profit industry for 10 years, most currently as a Development Officer for the Denver Rescue Mission.

Lauren and her husband, Ryan, are Colorado natives and spend their free time coaching competitive volleyball, camping, and running.


Hidey Sarah Director JVA Consulting

Sarah Hidey has been involved with international and national nonprofits for the last ten years. After receiving an MBA in International Economic Development, she worked for an international humanitarian organization in Asia and Africa, and then as a Grant Manager at the Denver Rescue Mission.

Sarah is currently an Associate at JVA Consulting—providing consulting services to nonprofit organizations in the areas of major grants, business planning and social enterprise.

Sarah is very passionate about issues of international development and human rights and loves to travel and hike.

Michael Kosakowski has worked in the banking industry for five years after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelors degree in Marketing.  His focus is lending in both the consumer and commercial markets.

Sapp Aaron President UnitedHealth Group

Aaron R. Sapp has been in the healthcare/insurance industry for 12 years and is currently employed as the National ICD-10 Program Director at UnitedHealthcare, where he has been since 2004.  Prior to his time at UnitedHealthcare, Aaron work for Rocky Mountain Health Plans and PacifiCare in network and operational roles.  Aaron graduated with his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in 1999 and received his master's degree, in Organizational Leadership, from the University of Denver in 2007.

Aaron currently serves as the President, Board of Directors for Caring Connection and currently serves the board as a member of the Community Outreach and Development Committee and the Strategic Leadership Committee.  In addition to his responsibilities on the Caring Connection board, Aaron is involved in a healthcare-centered collaborative, the Colorado Managed Care Collaborative, where he most recently served as the President, Board of Directors (2010-2011) and currently serves the board as a member of the Executive Committee. 

Aaron enjoys running, writing (fiction), and traveling.  Aaron and his wife Amelia spend the majority of their free time keeping their three daughters, Gracie, Audry, and Tilly busy and out of trouble.
Yockey Maureen Vice President Alternatives Pregnancy Center

Maureen Yockey has served as Executive Director of Alternatives Pregnancy Center since January 2001. Her background includes major account sales with Xerox Corporation, family law as a paralegal, and real estate sales. An avid skiier, during the winter months, Maureen volunteers with the National Sports Center for the Disabled at Winter Park.

 

Maureen and Galen live in Denver and are delighted to be near their three adult children, and six grandchildren.
