Introducing Mel Rael: Caring Connection's New Executive Director
The Caring Connection Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Manuel (Mel) Rael, Jr. as its new Executive Director. Mel comes to Caring Connection as a highly qualified executive having worked most recently as the Colorado Combined Campaign’s (CCC) Executive Director. Prior to the CCC, Mel wored at the Mile High United Way where he worked to create and execute a development program. During the recruitment process, it became apparent that Mel’s experience, industry knowledge and commitment to achieving at the highest levels overlaped with Caring Connection’s needs and his hire positions Caring Connection to capture the promise of our vision statement:
Caring Connection will create a community where non-profit organizations have the resources needed to provide services for sustained impact by connecting donors to causes they care about.
Caring Connection operates under the federated model and recently there have been a number of actual (as well as proposed) changes to how the local, state and (importantly) federal campaigns are run. Caring Connection recognizes that these changes may impact our future ability to provide the value our member agencies, partners, campaign managers and other stakeholders have come to expect from a historic perspective. As such, it is incumbent that we, the Caring Connection Board and staff, seek to find and develop new and significant ways in which we can ensure the value proposition which forms the basis of your relationship to Caring Connection remains strong even if it is different than it is today.
Once Mel has had a moment to settle in, he will be contacting all of Caring Connection’s member agencies to arrange a time to visit so that he can introduce himself and get to know you and understand the expectations you have of Caring Connection.
Mel is an important part of the future we are building at Caring Connection. With all change comes opportunity and Caring Connection is working to ensure we are in the right position to serve, successfully, our member agencies, partners, campaign managers and other stakeholders as we move forward in time. Please help us welcome Mel to Caring Connection!
